Abstract

The article highlights the results of the study of the formation of the status-role component of social competence of high school students as extremely important for the harmonization of the relationship “personality – society”. The status-role component of a socially competent person includes, first of all, such abilities as: adequate orientation in the social space (social statuses), the assimilation of socially important social roles, awareness of the content of selected social roles and ways of their implementation. The study of the formation of the status-role component of social competence of high school students has been carried out primarily by the method of questioning on the basis of the questionnaire developed by the author. Civil, family, labor, cultural and leisure aspects of social-role component of social competence are focused on in the article. The obtained data are analyzed and it is stated that the formation of the status-role component of social competence of high school students is primarily characterized by a socially amorphous level, which is specified by a low degree of orientation of high school students in the social environment, lack of sufficient motivation to social and public activity. The conclusions on the study about the necessity of social and pedagogical assistance in the development of the socially-role component of social competence of high school students are formulated, first of all through active involvement of them in socio-cultural practice.
