Abstract
The article explores the essence of the concept of socio-cultural competence, its place in the component composition of the communicative; outlined the main tasks in the process of formation of socio-cultural competence in pupils of 5 classes of institutions of general secondary education with languages of education of national minorities; the extremely important role of socio-cultural competence in the development of students' national consciousness, civil patriotism, tolerant attitude and interest in other languages and cultures, and the ability to successfully interact / communicate in a multicultural environment are revealed. In addition, the peculiarities of the content of the Ukrainian language as a state language reflecting social and / or cultural aspects are considered and designed to ensure the formation of socio-cultural competence for students of national minorities.
