Abstract

The Aim of the study is to analyze the history of the formation of the psychological service of the education system and give a description of the basic conceptual and methodological approaches to the implementation of the idea of a holistic study of the child's personality and the laws of its development. Results: The article covers the historical stages of psychological service’s development in the system of education of Ukraine from the XX till the beginning of the XXI century, reveals the role and importance of the introduction of psychological knowledge in the practice of reforming the educational field. The main factors of the development of practical psychology in the country for the century have been discovered and described. The analysis of the normative base and the work of individual researchers of the problem are carried out. The present state, problems and prospects of the development of the psychological service at the present stage of updating the education system are described. The ways of further improvement of activity of practical psychologists and social pedagogues are determined. Conclusions: Practical psychology has all the bases for its further development: historical and psychological (knowledge accumulated in the previous stages of development of the state and society); socio-political (needs of society and its social order); scientific-practical (diverse experience of socio-psychological activity of subjects of society - people and social institutions); scientific-theoretical (a set of systematized knowledge, which are generalized to the level of theoretical knowledge), etc. The psychological service in the education system of Ukraine should not be a set of separate regional (district, city) services or service institutions, or even individual specialists, which form only a formal unity, it should represent a single industry system of psychological support and socio-pedagogical support the educational process, the processes of development and social adaptation of all participants in the educational process.
