Abstract

The article outlines the relevance of the problem of socialization of senior pupils in the conditions of profile education. Presents results of a study of the adequacy of the relevant knowledge of upper secondary school pupils and their self-assessment regarding the ability of mutual understanding and cooperation as an important aspect of socialization. The author characterizes the process of formation in upper secondary school pupils of social competence as a prerequisite of socialization and represents this process as a model consisting of meaningful, active and productive units. Presents possible ways of formation of social competence of the pupils and the teacher’s role in this process. The achievement of the above goals are implemented through the assimilation of social knowledge and skills acquired in the process of the activity approach in the conditions of profile education.
