Abstract
The article deals with approaches to the developmentof a system of study assignments aimed at achieving success for each pupil. The methodology of forming first-graders' cognitive and practical skills as well as elementary mathematical concepts has been described. The emphasis is placed on the construction of learning process taking into account the age-related psychological and physiological characteristics of children in the first year of schooling.
