Abstract

The actual questions of comprehension of patriotism and its components as a value basis of the formation of prosocial behavior of adolescents in modern institutions of secondary education are considered. The results of the terminological analysis of the concepts of "patriotism" and "prosocial behavior" are presented, the characteristics of patriotism as values and a peculiar format of life orientations of the person, the tasks of the state and the needs of society are highlighted, examples of patriotically oriented education are given. The basic components of patriotism and their consistency with the characteristics of prosocial behavior are analyzed.
