Abstract
In the article, the age peculiarities of older adolescents are revealed in the context of educating self-affirmation by means of sport and game activity. With this aim, some psychological and physiological peculiarities of 7-9 grades students have been analyzed, as well as its taking into account during sport and game training. The author proves that the correct usage of age peculiarities by means of sport and game activities positively influences the education of older adolescents’ self-affirmation in general educational institutions. On the basis of analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, self-affirmation of older adolescents is defined as an intention for self-development, self-appraisal, self-realization of personal potentials in order to achieve the set goals, a certain status in the team. The author underlines that the process of personal self-affirmation gets especially complicated when radical social and economic changes and a variety of transformations of the society’s values provoke the instability of development of emotional and value spheres of youth, which significantly hinders the personal self-affirmation of contemporary older teenagers.
