Abstract

The very important issues of personal self-realization are highlighted. The conceptual approaches determining the psychological content of this phenomenon are analyzed, psychological determinants are described; the basic conditions of its formation during a person’s life are substantiated. Conclusions about the multidimensionality of this phenomenon and the ambiguity of its definitions are made. Personal self-realization take place under the condition of the unity of cognitive assessments by a person of his/her powers and achievements and his/her emotional reactions. Personal self-realization depends on his/her individual characteristics, relations with his/her own inner world, a degree of his/her need for reflection, intensity of the self-knowledge process, etc. The article proves that personal self-realization is conscious, purposeful planning, construction and transformation by an agent of his/her own actions and behaviour in accordance with personally meaningful goals, actual needs. Self-realization can be achieved if a person, in addition to being able to reflect adequately and to simulate mentally an existing situation, is able to transform his/her own activities (external and internal) according to the reflected model of the predicted situation. Due to the complexity of this phenomenon, the scientific literature presents different approaches that clearly represent authentic methodological constructs, concepts, research methods for comprehension of this particular sphere of human development in the ontogenesis.
