Abstract

The authors outline methodological principles of organizing content and functions of textual component in Spanish language textbooks “BIENVENIDOS AL ESPAÑOL” for students of 7and 8 grades of secondary school. The basis for their views are the competence-based, the communicative activity, the personality-oriented and the cultorological approaches that are dominating in the modern school education in foreign languages. The principles of the selection and the functions of the texts in the educational process are defined.
