Abstract

The article analyzes the classification of paradigmatic knowledge, the essence of modern educational paradigms ( cognitive-informational, personal, cultural, and competency ). The possibilities of choice competency paradigm as a basis to improve the quality of higher education, providing systematic training of graduates, formation of their readiness to successfully solve the basic problems of professional and social activities are revealed. The conditions of formation of competency paradigm in higher education are analyzed. Competence of a specialist as a result of training is considered as education, which has a three-tier structure and consists of the key, general professional and special professional competence. On the necessity of formation of key competencies in the training of future professionals are focused.
