Abstract

The article reveals a modern interpretation of the essence of the notion of inde-pendent external evaluation in education, discusses the history of formation of in-dependent external evaluation as a tool for education quality management in Ukraine. The purposes of external independent evaluation in education, its advan-tages and disadvantages identified.
