Abstract

This article reveals patriotic education of senior teenagers in the process of sport mass work. We consider different forms such as sports competitions for prizes of famous countrymen, the military-patriotic sport game «Zirnytsya», tourist trips. The results of a study of patriotic education are presented. The effectiveness of organizational forms used in the process of sport mass work with senior teenagers is substantiated. At the present stage of Ukrainian state development, the problem of patriotic education of pupils is important and urgent. The need for a comprehensive study is obvious due primarily to the gradual decrease in pupils’ interest in national and historical values of our people. The study presented in the article contributes to the proper formation and development of pupils as individuals and patriots of their country. Analysis of scientific literature testifies that patriotic education of senior teenagers is very important part of sport and mass work. Due to its popularity among pupils, it can be considered as one of the most effective forms of comprehensive development. However, in recent years, patriotic education research is paid insuf-icient attention, which led to a gradual decline in scientific interest in popular forms and methods of patriotic education.
