Abstract

The article deals with the theoretical and methodological bases of research of readiness to professional self-affirmation. Based on the analysis of psychological and educational literature, professional self-affirmation is considered in terms of the notional approach. It manifests as the aspiration of personality for a specific type of activity, and is associated with the motivation to learn, life competence and self-determination. Self-affirmation is the orientation of the personality to realization of "self" based on the formation of internally consistent representations of oneself (self-images). The multiple aspect of the phenomenon of self-affirmation can be attributed to its important components of professional activity, success in it. Readiness for professional activity is an active concentration of human abilities in accordance with perceived needs and motives of the personality. So, readiness to professional self-affirmation is a dynamic system, and its components are directed at the disclosure of potential professional opportunities and determine personal growth.
