Abstract

In the article there has been analyzed the content of integral-role position of a pedagogue-andragogue which is represented in the foreign scientific literature. The author postulates the opinion about the dependence of andragogs’ functions on the major characteristics of the society development as adult education cannot be neutral. Hence, the specialists engaged in this sphere cannot work away from public and economic changes, society needs, market requirements, etc. The author analyzes the leading roles of a pedagog-andragog (teacher, guide, facilitator, trainer) which are actually interrelated and interdependent. In addition, the competences which are necessary for performing these functions have been substantiated. Firstly, the definition of an andragog has been offered. Secondly, there has been revealed the meaning of andragogic activity as well as the content peculiarities of andragogic training. Finally, both the goal (the creation of certain conditions to meet the needs of definite groups of specialists) and the result (readiness for andragogic activity) have been represented in the paper. On the basis of the scientific literature review there has been depicted the content of the integral-role position of a pedagog-andragog consisting of three constituents – object-meaningful, project-technological and organization-diagnostic, every of which carries out important functions.
