Abstract
The article explores the process of development of external independent assessment of knowledge in mathematics in Ukraine. It analyses the influence of other countries’ experience of establishment of similar assessment systems on external assessment of knowledge in mathematics. In particular, a comparison of model elements of external assessment of knowledge in mathematics in Poland and Ukraine was made, focusing on test format. The article outlines ways to improve the existing model of external independent assessment of knowledge in mathematics in Ukraine.
