Abstract

The aspects of children and young people education (in particular patriotic education) by means of Horting - Ukrainian national kind of sport are considered in the article. Potential of Horting was investigated as a factor of patriotic education of citizens. The program of military-patriotic education within trainings of Hortingin public schools was also considered as the basis for national-patriotic upbringing of the younger generation, patriotic identity formation and sustained motivation to create the conditions for safe living and healthy lifestyle, as well as ability for self-protection and to protect others in emergency cases. The methods for military-patriotic education of youth, which the Horting Federations together with the Cossack and other patriotic organisations use in their practice, have been analysed.Special attention is paid to the methods of successful educational work on military-patriotic education by means of Horting used by the trainers; work with parents and recommendations on military-patriotic upbringing in a family.
