Abstract

The important task of the New Ukrainian School is the formation of critical thinking in students, which should be implemented in the teaching of any school subject. However, the potential of each of them in this direction should be determined depending on the specifics of the content of the foundations of a science. The article presents an analysis of the potential of history as a subject in the development of critical thinking in connection with specific methods and techniques of organizing the work of students that contribute to its implementation in education.
