Abstract

The research work described in the present study focused on the connection between self-education and the personal and professional interests of prospective teachers; the role of motivation on self-development; the importance of developing in students the desire to gain scientific and professional knowledge, as well as to become familiar with innovative professional practices. It was observed that for the majority of the participants motivation for self-education was associated with their professional growth. To achieve effective self-education, undergraduates must possess the following qualities: self-confidence, independence of judgment, the ability to use the experience of their colleagues, the ability to cooperate, and the ability to defend their point of view. The suggested methodology of motivation and stimulation of future teachers’ self-education in the process of teaching practice is associated with the acquisition and updating of subjective experience, the search for links between internal and external experience. Additional Information: IRINA DUBROVINA The Author is Ph.D. in Pedagogy, is an associate professor at the Pedagogical Creativity Department of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. She is the author of 60 and co-author of 6 research works, including monographs, educational, research and methodological manuals, research articles in professional journals, specialized courses, curricula and test tasks for students of higher education institutions. She also has experience in teaching at pre-school, secondary and higher education institutions, as well as institutes of postgraduate pedagogical education. She has spent 20 years building her overall experience in teaching and carrying out scientific research. She collaborates with the publisher of Polish scientific journal, Nauczyciel i Szkoła. Her research interests cover several areas, and include theoretical and practical problems of educational innovations, forecasting the development of educational processes and systems, and innovative methods and techniques for teacher training and retraining. She also cares about supporting her students in their educational efforts, their self-development and self-improvement. She holds the position of secretary of the journal "Ridna shkola" (under the patronage of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine). KATERYNA HORASH The Author is Ph.D. in Pedagogy, is a senior researcher at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. She also has experience teaching in pre-school, secondary and higher education institutions, as well as institutes of post-graduate pedagogical education. She has 30 years overall experience in teaching and scientific research. She has participated in numerous research projects carried out by the Institute of Pedagogy of the NAES of Ukraine. Currently she is working on the Organizational and Pedagogical Principles of Designing the Educational Environment of an Upper Secondary School; applied research. State registration number: 0116U003185. The timeframe of the study is 2019-2021. TETIANA RADZIVIL The Author is Ph.D. in Pedagogy. She works as an Assistant Professor at Pavlo Tychyna USPU (Ukraine). She has great pedagogical experience and also engages in scientific research in this field. She is a winner of international competitions for instrumentalists (Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Serbia). TATIANA OLIYNYK The Author is Ph.D. in Pedagogy. She works as an Assistant Professor at Pavlo Tychyna USPU (Ukraine). In 2001 she became involved in scientific and pedagogical research, which has remained her area of scientific interest since then. The particular areas of her scientific interests are musical art, pedagogy, musical-pedagogical education, and instrumental performance. Tatiana also puts great effort into preparing her students for scientific research.
