Abstract

This article analyzes the important mechanism of creativity as a restructuring. Restructuring means a partial or complete reorganization of knowledge. The article covers the methodological and practical aspects of a comprehensive approach to the development of students' creative thinking using the gestalt restructuring mechanism. It is argued that heuristic teaching methods overcome the contradictions between the aims and methods of education that exist in the practice of the educational process. The author examines the experience of applying the author’s creative thinking development course for students of middle and senior school age, which is called “Steps to Creativity”. The psychodidactic foundations of building a school development course are revealed. They are aimed at the phased development of creative thinking of children and contribute to the actualization of higher creative manifestations of intelligence.
