Abstract

The article raises the problem of implementation of the competence approach in school literary education, which is considered as one of the priority directions of its development. The question of understanding reading as the most important way of assimilating the basic information, one of the main factors of self-development of the individual, has been updated. The essence of concepts "reader's key competence" and "reader's subject competence" are concretized; components of subject reading competence (general cultural, literary studying, interpretive, axiological, creative-speech) are defined and characterized. The didactic-methodical potential of the new valid textbooks of Ukrainian literature (level of standard ) for the students of the 10th and 11th forms of institutions of general secondary education, prepared in the context of the educational tasks of the New Ukrainian School for the consistent development of reading competence of pupils, is disclosed. It is emphasized that textbooks are considered by their authors as as an effective means of the implementation of subject-subject school literary education. It is indicated that the essential factors of the effectiveness of such training are the appeal to the reading experience of senior pupils, the use of modern educational material and the definition of the trajectory of its processing, taking into account the principles of differentiation and individualization of training in the construction of the methodical apparatus, the priority of innovative methods and methods of organization of educational activities, realization of culturological approach.
