Abstract
The article deals with the significant transformations, which took place in the adult education in Poland in the second half of the XX century and the beginning of the XXI century and gave grounds for a definite per iodization. It is possible to allocate the socialist, postsocialist and modern periods, those reflecting the behavior of socio-political changes in the country. Under author’s review is the education of people of the third age.
