Abstract

The theses focus on the need to clarify the list of functions of the state final certification of applicants for basic general secondary education. It has been established that the state final certification of applicants for basic general secondary education should perform the following functions: political, managerial, certification, selective (or selection), control, diagnostic, assessment’s function, informational, motivational, and function of legitimizing membership in the world community. It is noted that the political function and the function of legitimizing membership are new for the Ukrainian educational community, and therefore require additional study and implementation.
