Abstract
The article presents the theoretical aspects of implementing a competent approach in teaching the biology of elementary and high school students. The features of interaction and intellectogenesis, innovative approaches to the development of competences in the educational process in biology are considered. Examples of methodical techniques and teaching tasks for the development of critical and creative thinking are given.
