Abstract
The main directions of activity of the institutions of the regional system of postgraduate education are presented in relation to the creation of a regional system of continuing education of the teacher, the peculiarities of the introduction of the modular-accumulation system during the training of pedagogical workers are characterized, the structural components of the teacher's self-education activity are considered, and the model of the management of the process of continuing teacher education is outlined.
