Abstract

In this ancle the process and the results of the current step-up investigation of the content and the forms of the term «Graphic Art» («GA») are stated, which, to the athor's point of view, is described insufficiently in most studied literature sources: by mistake it takes into account only some kinds of Art. Complex approach for the ground of the expanded understanding of the term's content was used: the analysis of the position of some researchers, who stand up for figurative essence of other kinds of Art; etymological analysis of the words «Image» and «Art» from the point of view not only figurative nature in modern concept «Graphic Art» but from its supervisualization; revealing stylistic-logical mistakes of «differentiation similarity» and «comparison of different»; analysis of the words with affics «izo» which was resulted in supposition about influence of Russian limited interpretation of the term «Graphic Art».
