Abstract

The autonomy of schools was not a tradition in Western Europe, and its formation has been around for three decades. In terms of autonomy, European schools are divided into four main categories according to the areas of responsibility they provide. For the process of humanizing education, school autonomy is necessary to guarantee freedom of teaching, to strengthen the democracy of local schools.
