Abstract

The main trends of the modern development of Finnish school education is the democratization of the management of the educational process ensuring the equality of chances of education by different social groups, decentralization processes carried out through school autonomy, the development of social partnership of educational institutions with civil society institutions, updating the content of general education in accordance with the concept of " a society of knowledge "(its orientation to different cognitive potential of students), improving the quality of learning and providing its conformity to the current level of social and economic development of society, improvement of teacher training on the basis of increasing their professional importance and social status.
