Abstract
In these theses the features of the questionnaires as the tools of the comparative studies of the quality of general secondary education were analyzed. The questionnaires that are being used in the international study TIMSS and have been using in the National study “Monitoring of the quality of general secondary education by the pupils’ results of studying at primary and basic schools” (2013) were described. The factors that influence the level of the educational achievements of Ukrainian pupils in mathematics and nature sciences, which were discovered by the results of Ukraine's participation in TIMSS-2011, were highlighted.
