Abstract

This article deals with the features of incipience of the parochial church schools in the educational system of the Russian Empire, its people's perception and understanding and its role, which was assigned by the heads of empire. It was found that the system of parochial school finally formed in the period of the chief prosecutor K.P. Pobyedonostsev. He considered it as the basis of moral education of society, because the combination of school and church creates the necessary conditions for the proper moral education of youth, which secular education cann't give.
