Abstract

The article is dedicated to the actual problem of the development of language and cultural values, moral and civic values of the students at the lessons of Ukrainian language on the basis of competency, activity and personality-oriented approaches. On the basis of valid state documents (the State standard of basic and complete secondary education, updated educational programs), the Concept of a new Ukrainian school, modern teaching methods, experience of experimental work, the author outlines the role of value approach in the formation of the student’s personality as a citizen-patriot.
