Abstract

The monograph examines the internationalization of higher education as the main direction of its development in the conditions of dynamic social transformations caused by globalization and the rapid development of the latest information and computer technologies. The personal and institutional dimensions of the internationalization of higher education, its multicultural and transformative potential, in particular in the cosmopolitan perspective, are analyzed, the mechanisms of internationalization of universities of the European Union and communication processes in the internationalization of higher education are highlighted. It is grounded that the internationalization of higher education should be considered not as a self-sufficient goal, but as a means of improving the quality of education and a means of preparing a young person to live in a globalized world in conditions of dynamic civilization transformations. For this, the internationalization of higher education should have cultural and humanitarian content and implemented with the use of a personal approach. The monograph analyzes the strategic documents of the global, European and national levels that determine the policy and prospects for the internationalization of higher education. The results of the study presented in the monograph can be used by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the ZOO of Ukraine, the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the councils of rectors of regional university centers of Ukraine and positively influence the process of reforming university education in accordance with modern world standards. The monograph may also be of interest to researchers, teachers, young scientists, masters, students, as well as anyone interested in internationalization issues of higher education and its cultural and humanitarian strategies.
