Abstract

The study identifies the major reform processes that take place in the Polish higher education sector. It was emphasized that innovations concern organizational and structural changes, namely: university councils are being introduced, adaptation of the university statutes to the requirements of the new Law "On Higher Education and Science" is planned. The main directions of reform were determined, as well, modernization of the model of doctoral training, development of the institute of academic integrity, improvement of the quality of scientific research.
