Abstract
The main idea embodied in the manual “Biology. Grade 8”, based on the implementation of personality-oriented, activity and competence approaches. Their implementation was carried out thanks to the strengthening of self-education, systematizing, developing, educational and other functions. The self-educational function of the manual is realized through the synchronization of three blocks: text, illustrations, and learning tasks, and is aimed at developing the skills to independently acquire knowledge. The systematizing function of the manual is realized by presenting information in graphical forms: diagrams, schematic drawings, tables, work with which develops the ability of students to systematize and summarize information. The developmental function of the manual is aimed at the development of the personality and the formation of students' communicative competences in the process of teaching biology through the introduction of various types of training organization: in pairs, groups, and teams. The educational function is aimed at strengthening the cultural and value potential of knowledge about a person, in particular, about how to preserve his health, through disclosing the contribution of foreign and domestic scientists to the development of biological science, creates conditions for the formation of health-saving competence and national-patriotic education of students. The manual after the paragraph contains tasks for self-control of the knowledge gained by the student. At the end of the topic in the section “Thematic self-control of students' knowledge”, a system of tasks of various types and levels of difficulty is proposed that the student can use for self-control, and the teacher - to prepare students for thematic testing. The manual is intended for the organization of educational activities of students of the 8th grade.
