Abstract

The article is analyzing the experience of implementing the forms and methods of developing teachers’ digital competence within the framework of distant education and usage of services GSuite for Edu, based on the real experience of educating the pedagogical staff of the university. The notions of competence, digital competence, and distance education are being reviewed in the given article. The major peculiarities are discovered and detected in the development of digital competence among pedagogical staff during the process of organizing distant education when using digital instruments of GSuite for Education. The article also provides a review of educational opportunities provided by the digital instruments of GSuite for Education system for organizing distant education and highlights the effective forms and methods for the development of digital competence under the conditions of distant learning on the example of program of advanced training of pedagogical staff of State Higher Educational Institution “University of Educational Management” of National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. The article includes a description of implementing the scientific and methodological support of the experimental implementation that was carried out by the chair of open educational systems and informative-communicative technologies of the Institute of postgraduate education. The article provides the description of the effective forms of training the pedagogical staff in the educational environment Google Class, the analysis of the results of training, and the discovered advantages of cooperative activity of participants of the educational process. The article highlights the detected promising trends of the development of digital competence of the pedagogical staff under the conditions of distant education.
