Abstract
In these theses presented the experience of the European countries (Great Britain, Ireland, Island, the Netherlands, Norway, and France) in conducting external evaluation (school examinations) after the completion of basic secondary education institutions (pupils of 14-16 years old). The purpose and tasks of these exams and the procedure of the choice by the educational subjects (pupil, graduate) of educational subjects was analyzed. The experience about using of the results of external evaluation after the completion of basic secondary education’s institutions as a mechanism for determining of the direction of future specialization by educational subjects on the next educational levels was highlighted.
