Abstract
The paper examines the psychological features of the narratives generated in the practice of telephone counseling in situations where the main motive of the caller is the need for externalization of his condition. The purpose and applicability of the narrative approach in such cases are argued. The concepts of an initiative narrative, crisis narrative, managing narrative and dialogue (broken) narrative are introduced. The features of the narratives of "hovering" subscribers and peculiarities of building dialogue with them are analysed. The advantage of the written form of dialogue (eg, in the form of on-line correspondence) as a powerful therapeutic tool is discussed. The concept of adviser's "consultative and research narrative" is introduced as a special working construct by which problems of advisory and research plan are solved.
