Abstract
The State Standard of Education is considered as a social ideal and an educational standard taking into account the real possibilities of a person and the educational system of the country to achieve them. The State Standard is considered as a general approach to forming integral educational system of Ukraine ensuring consistency of all educational programmes, creation of real conditions for integrity of education. The State Standard must provide for the organic unity of the educational sphere of Ukraine under keeping a variety of educational institutions: schools, licees, colleges etc. The Standard envisages normal educational loading hours for pupils, its content should be easily understood and be within their power to comprehend it. A system of estimation of mastering the teaching material is a basic part of the Standard ensuring greater objectivity of evaluation of teacher’s, pupil’s and school’s work. The introduction of the Standard should guarantee the real differentiation of educational process, give pupils the opportunity to realize their educational „straight lines”.
