Abstract

The article presents the science competence as an object of monitoring of the quality of the secondary education. The content and structure of competence are disclosed. It was found out that the term "natural-scientific competence" of the State Standard of basic and complete secondary education (Ukraine, 2011) almost coincides with the term "literacy" in an International study of educational quality PISA. It was discovered that the evaluation tools of natural science competencies of pupils are tests and questionnaires.
