Abstract
The monograph presents theoretical, organizational, methodological and technological bases concerning the formation of library information resources in subject research library; new approaches in providing access to them are suggested. The peculiarities of users’ subject information needs and ways to meet them are shown. The problems of preserving and using books from the past are studied. Theoretical justification and practical implementation of ways regarding transformation of education libraries into base document and communication complexes of global information environment are presented. The publication is useful for education libraries of all types as well as other libraries of various systems and departments. It can also be used by those who are engaged in scientific, educational and scientific work.
