Abstract

The thesis studies psychological factors behind entrepreneurial burnout. The work includes theoretical substantiation, methodology and findings of empirical research on this problem. The paper discusses the main approaches to the study of burnout as well as highlights the content of entrepreneurial burnout and profession-relevant features that contribute to its development. Based on the empirical study the author analyzes entrepreneurs' understanding of entrepreneurial activities, business motivation, positive and negative aspects of entrepreneurship as well as entrepreneurs' awareness of negative emotional expressions in doing business. The author measured the levels of entrepreneurial burnout, identified the micro-level factors (entrepreneurs' personal, organizational, professional, socio-demographic and socio-entrepreneurial characteristics) and meso-level factors (registration form, type of business, the number of people in the organization) that contribute to burnout in business. The author has developed and tested a special entrepreneurial burnout prevention and recovery program. The empirical data confirm launched at the beginning of the study hypothesis.
