Abstract

In the article the scientific problem of historical-methodological researches of domestic physics didactics personalities is actualized. The author gives prove of the necessity of introduction to the scientific space theory and methodology of teaching physics of creative ground works of the scientists who created and developed this branch of science teaching in Ukraine. Based on the study and analysis of scientific sources and archival materials for the first time it’s systematically studied scientific and educational activities of O. Shapchenko, who was the first teacher of General Physics and Physics Methodology of the Kherson Institute of Popular Schooling and the Pedagogical Institute. In the article his contribution to the development of physics teaching methodology in school, elaboration of geometrical optics questions in school physics course are characterized.
