Abstract

The scheme of using social networks in teaching physics is presented in this paper. The advantages and disadvantages of using social networks in teaching physics are described. It is concluded that the application of social networks into the educational process can enhance the quality of education through the development of student teamwork skills and collective creativity; the using of opensource, open and free electronic resources; creating of network educational content; development of information concepts; managing and monitoring the activities of members of the network community. For teachers social networks can serve as a tool for professional development.
