Abstract

In the article, the areas in the literary reading content under the context of the competence-based approach are studied. The components of the specified purpose of the course, the changes in the curriculum content lines were analyzed; the essence of the junior schoolchildren's reading competence of the communicative and speech principle were featured. The potential opportunities of a subject in the formation of the key and the subject competences, the ways for the readers' activity of the metasubject competence were demonstrated.
