Abstract
In the article the role and place andragogy in the Scandinavian context are defined, formation and development of the Scandinavian concept of adult learning is investigated. On the basis of the Scandinavian pedagogic literature analysis the main stages of the adult education development are singled out; the peculiar attention is given to the understanding and place of Andragogy in the system of sciences.
