Abstract
The artikle deals with the formation of fable genre in the history of the Ukrainian literature. Culturological and historical- literature context of this process is considered. Themeansof forming notion on fable genre to the pupils at the lessons of Ukrainian literature in the 6th form of general educational establishments are defined, traditional and innovation approaches to studyinga literary fable of the Ukrainian fabulist are examined.
