Abstract
The analysis of the discipline "Economics of education". Its theoretical framework defines an interdisciplinary approach that characterizes the interdependence of the economy and education. It is noted that with Ukraine's transition to a market economy there is a need to modernize the training of heads of educational institutions, which requires knowledge about the role of education systems in the economy and socio-economic efficiency of the educational activity.
