Abstract

The analised results of scientific approaches to define the category "informational-analitical competence" are represented in the article. They prove the lack its a single explanation in scientific literature. It is mainly represented as a key component of a professional competence, a separated one in the group of semiotic competences, two different key competeces (informational and analytical) and an integrative personal characteristic. It is also accepted as particular demands to characterise the ability and readiness of a specialist to work in particular areas. The indicator of a person's literacy is also thought to be measured through "informational-analitical competence".
