Abstract

From the standpoint of humanistic approach in psychology the features and conditions of interaction between the psychologist and the public through the media are being discussed. The article focuses on the dialog communication between the psychologist and the recipient of psychological assistance, particularly through the press (newspapers, popular and research and also methodology magazines and anuals). The basic features which can distinguish between dialog, subjectcentered and manipulative communication are being discussed. Text comprehension, the wording of answers to it, oral discussion conduct, meaning exchange etween the psychologist and citizens as the subjects of interaction – these all are considered to be the communication base for the dialog mode through the printed media. The result is the generation of a new meaning, capable of helping the individual understand a conflict situation, their problem, reconsider their own abilities and objective conditions for problem solution.
