Abstract

The article is reviewed the modern data concerning the significance of psychological characteristics for the risk of cancer pathology and its progression. The influence of stress, depression, early childhood relationships, mental adaptation to cancer, regulation of emotions and social support are discussed. The hypothesis is formulated that psychological problems of the oncological patients may be present as rejection of some their personal traits or emotions and the development of own control to look be accepted and strong. The research of fantasies concerning expression of repressed traits may be step forward the education of patients to receive social support, discuss their problems and more fully express their personality.
