Abstract
This article deals with results of theoretical analysis of scientific and pedagogical sources of competence-oriented educational training of students at different stages and levels of school physical education content as well as practical experience in teaching physics. The definition of the terms "general educational level of subject competencies in physics” and "competence in physics in general secondary school” are defined. The structure of subject competence in physics of general educational establishment pupils is developed.
